Ruby Day 30 Wrap Removed

My local Vet took Ruby’s wrap off today!  She is resting more comfortably now.  There wasn’t a lot of seepage at all, just a little around her staples.  She weighed in at 52 lb on the scale.  She looks really good and Dr. Fipp said that he could take the staples out also, if I prefer.  Just depends how well she does thru the next two weeks.  If it heals successfully, I will have him remove them most likely.  Time will tell.  I call the other two Vets that work on her and updated them with how the incision is after he removed the wrap.  Everyone is happy and now we wait.  Here is a video I took earlier after the wrap was removed.  https://youtu.be/68ZERfOJCzU     Hopefully I put that in here right and you are able to click the link to the youtube channel I put it on.

Ruby in the cage!

This indoor enclosure is PERFECT for Ruby!!!  She needs to be restricted for the next two weeks, limited mobility.  She is resting comfortably now inside her safe place!!  So grateful my friend sent it to me to use.  Much better to have her out in the living room with all of us instead of in her tiny “rest room” I had for her.  I had to open it all the way up take her inside of it on the leash, then I locked it up.  I think she will do well in here for the next 24 hrs.  Minus getting out to potty.

Ruby the complicated one

Ruby is in a lot of pain.  Yelping out at times.  She is resting on the couch, but my friend sent an enclosure home so I set it up in the living room and I will put her in there when I go to work.  I had to pay for the antibiotic for a few doses and her Vet will mail me more today from her office.  Clavamox still.  And tramadol for pain, again.  I already have some here at home, so I didn’t buy the pain meds.  They did charge me for the couple doses of antibiotics.  Ruby has a wrap on.  looks like shiny brand new staples underneath.  I can see the bottom part of the incision.  She get the wrap off tomorrow.  I either take her back to this other animal hospital and they will help or they said I could do it.  Regardless I will go to one of the Vets we know and have them help with it.  I hate that she is in pain.  She can not sit or lay on the stump without yelping out loud.   I wasn’t able to make it there early enough to talk with the Vet after the surgery.  She left me a voicemail on the phone.  Staples will remain for two weeks.  smh.
