why did the incision rip…

There was one staple left on the incision and caused it to rip and drain.  The lump on her back appears to be a sebaceous cyst, but we will know more by the end of the week when Dr. S gets back.  Her growing mass is uncomfortable for her.  Other than all of that… Ruby is doing quite well.  I did tell her I thought another surgery might be overkill.  That I would rather her live out her life until it’s time to go.  We will see what the Doctor says later this week.

  1. Okay, I pretty much said everything in the blog post right before this one.

It does make me wonder if the swelling is a “mass” at all, but MAYBE something related to the staple left in….maybe more staples are still in there!!

Yes I would DEFINITELY, DEFINITELY get her home Thursday! I certainly would hope that if any “tests” need to be done, they would do them now and not just “wait” for Dr S and then keep Ruby even longer!! Nope, no need for that!!

Thanks again for updating us! I’m glad Ruby is doing well and that painful staple is gone!!

Ruby, really is a very, very tough doggy! She is determined to be Ruby and does not let any obstacle get in her way!!! Such a sweetheart of a dog!!

She’ll be home Wednesday and all your pack will be together again!!

In the meantime, give your precious furbabies an extra treat for us tonight!

    Lots of hugs to you!!

Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!

    1. No update yet. The Vet sees her on Thursday and she will tell me stuff then. For now, Ruby is just hanging tight at her office. I miss her so much. Trying to submerge myself into work and other tasks to keep busy so my mind doesn’t dwell. Her spirit is so large that there is an emptiness inside our home right now.

  2. Well said…Ruby’s spirit is large! 🙂 I know you miss her, but she’ll be home soon.

You can still call the Vet Tech and check on her and see how the incision looks and see how her overall attitude is.

I’m sure there is a Vet there who has looked at her and not just leaving her there all these days unchecked! So surely someone can give you an update.

Hugs to you and all your pack!
