Ruby on the mend

Ruby is cuddling with me on my feet.  She does this often nowadays and is always by my side constantly as she can be.  She is taking her meds nicely and should be able to get these stitches out on Monday night!!!  I plan to write an essay on her Saturday.   I haven’t been posting as much because things are starting to settle down for her.  I really think she is going to be okay now.

Question, what is the best rehab to give to her?  swimming?  agility?  Or is there a rehab center near Muncie, Indiana?

Ruby is three years old. extremely smart, beautiful and such a great friend.

  1. THIS UPDATE MAKES ME SO HAPPY!!! Yes, sweet Ruby is finally on the mend!!

And poor thing, I guess she is sticking like glue to you! You are her “security blanket” and wants nothing more than to be by your side!

Not sure about your Rehab questions as far as what’s good. But I will check and see if there is a Rehab place near you.

Give that sweet girl a big hug!

  2. I’ve met with Toby’s rehab vet twice now. The general concept is to have him do different exercises to use different muscles. Most are very simple things like: sit to stand, low elevated stand, tricep “push-ups” (having him bend his elbow), sideways walking and bows. We asked about swimming and she said swimming is good for them but it’s a hard activity so not to try it for awhile and to make sure he had a life jacket on.

As far as places to take Ruby I don’t know if there are any in Muncie. Somewhere on this site there is link where you can look them up by area. That’s how I found the one I use. She’s here in Indy and works out of your home. I don’t know if she would go up there but if you don’t find anything up there and want to bring Ruby down I highly recommend her. Her name is Arielle Pechette Markley and her company is Midwest Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation.
