missing her already

I didn’t want to take Ruby to Ft. Wayne, but I really had no choice.  I saw the incision line had a tiny opening and it needed attention.  Can’t afford another Vet to do it.  Now she is staying in Ft. Wayne until her surgeon decides what to do next week.  I didn’t want to wait until mid weekend when I’m deep into starting my work week to run her to any emergency room.  At least by being at the hospital she will have others to look after her and get her thru this all the way.  I will drive there next week to visit her.  I have Monday off work.  (I think that is what the schedule said)  Regardless, I miss her already and didn’t want to leave her there.

Now we wait…

  1. You did what you had to do considering the hand you are being dealt. And that’s all any of us can do….the best we can.

Ruby knows you are doing everything possible for her.
She looked happy and fit jn the video yesterday and that’s in her favor. She’s a strong girl!

Can I ask you a question or two? Did you speak with anyone at Ft Wayne and describe what was going on and did they tell you to bring her? Or did you talk with Dr F and he told you to take her?

Did anyone at Ft Wayne look at her and give you a clue what was going on and how they were going to treat her over the next couple of days?

All paws crossed for getting all this handled easily and quickly!! 🙂 🙂

    Hugs

    1. I called Dr. F and he was willing to see her, but I didn’t take her to him. I called the Anderson Hospital because I couldn’t reach Ft. Wayne clinic over the phone and they were able to reach them and Dr. S asked me to bring her there. When I got there I was able to briefly re explain everything that was the current problem, but it was only while I was handing her over. I mentioned the lump on her shoulder blades, but I will call them on Monday to check on her and make sure they heard me about that lump. She appears to be perfectly healthy, she always has appeared that way. Had I not seen an opening and bloody drips I wouldn’t have taken her. I would have just held on to her until sometime next week. If I would have had more time yesterday, I would have taken her to Dr. F before heading to Ft. Wayne. I just didn’t have the time needed as I had to get there before they closed at 430pm. I just made it in time. I’m worried about her, but I know she is safe. This will be a long weekend.

  2. Oh my gosh!!! Just looked at the video above!!! GRINNING EAR TO EAR!!! 🙂

Dogs and muddy water….best time ever!!! Only little Pretzel was smart enough to get all dirty!!! 🙂

    1. She actually fell in the big puddle the next day when she was trying to stay on dry land trotting beside it. She usually stays out of that mess, but nature wanted her to have a bath. It was pretty funny. The others LOVE water. They like squishing their toes in the mud. Ruby likes to bite the water! They crack me up watching these videos.
